The League ChatBox is a new program offered online for small groups to engage and discuss important issues.  Get answers, share ideas, learn together.

We hear about innovation and entrepreneurial thinking almost every day, especially as the education sector adapts to our new normal. But what do you need to consider if you want to launch your own business?

Join Tara Harvey, founder of True North Intercultural, as she shares her journey of leaving higher/international education in 2016 to start her own intercultural consulting and training company. Tara will discuss key lessons learned along the way, offer advice to others considering a similar path, and answer participants’ questions. League members are encouraged to participate no matter your journey, whether you’re toying with entrepreneurial ideas, exploring a “side hustle,” or have started your own business.

CO-HOSTS:

Tara Harvey, founder of True North Intercultural, combines broad experience in international education (international student services, study abroad, and language learning) with deep understanding of intercultural teaching and learning to help faculty and staff better navigate cultural differences and facilitate intercultural learning (abroad and at home). Tara has worked at institutions such as the University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, and CIEE. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota.

Sarah E. Spencer is managing director and founder of OnPoint Global Strategies, a project-based organization that provides positive leadership, solutions and training for global educators. She is also a founding member of the Global Leadership League’s volunteer-led Executive Team.
