  Join us for the Early Career Professionals affinity group re-launch and for some casual November networking! We will introduce ourselves and the affinity group and then will have time for members to introduce themselves to the group and get to know one another in themed breakout rooms.

  Katie Claggett (she/her) - KClaggett@ceacapa.com

  

  Katie Claggett is a Partner Engagement Manager at CEA CAPA Education Abroad. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, where she also serves as a Mentor Fellow for the Conflict Transformation Fellowship Program. Katie calls Maryland home, and has worked, volunteered, and studied in various countries including Chile, Morocco, and Belize. Katie's professional experience centers in education abroad with a focus on marketing and alumni relations. Katie holds a Bachelor's Degree from Guilford College in Sociology and Anthropology, and is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player and aspiring gardener. 

  Hayley Barriere (she/her) - Hayley.Barriere@uvm.edu

  

  Hayley is the Education Abroad Programs Coordinator at the Office of International Education at the University of Vermont. She has held this position since 2022. Hayley primarily works with faculty-led study abroad programs and students participating in independent international travel opportunities. She is a UVM alum, graduating with an undergraduate degree in Global Studies in 2019, and is now pursuing a master’s program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at UVM. In her free time, Hayley enjoys traveling, riding her bike, skiing, and searching for the best ice cream in the state of Vermont

  Abi Cavazos is an International Education professional who has worked in higher education for over 20 years. She began working in the study abroad field in 2012, and has served in various capacities at a variety of institutions during the past 10 years. She is also a mom to a 12-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son. She has navigated issues such as work/life balance, stages of grief with kids, and ‘mom guilt’ of being a working parent. In her current role, Abi serves as Associate Director for Study Abroad at Siena College outside of Albany, NY.

  Elizabeth Erbeznik (she/her) is an international educator with nearly two decades of experience in higher education. Her first role in education involved teaching English to middle schoolers as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar. (Had her Malagasy colleagues done a performance review of her teaching abilities back then, she'd have been placed squarely in the "needs improvement" phase.) She then went on to earn a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. After spending several years teaching college-level French and leading study abroad programs in Paris and Bordeaux, she took a role in the Academic Affairs department at WorldStrides (originally ISA) in 2015. She loves onboarding new colleagues, setting goals, meeting quarterly objectives, and collaborating with her team to ensure that they're supporting student learning on all their programs. In her spare time, she thrives by hanging out with her family in Austin, TX, reading, writing short stories, and traveling.
