A Writer’s Circle for League Members
inspire, create, and share in a trusted space

“We begin to find and become ourselves when we notice how we are already found, already truly, entirely, wildly, messily, marvelously who we were born to be.” - Anne Lamott

What is The League Lasso?

The League Lasso is launching in 2021 as a trusted space for members to inspire, create, and share their stories and writings with others. Members are invited to create a piece of writing.  The genre is open to all forms of the writing enterprise. The writing piece can be of professional nature or a personal outlet.  Here are few examples (as a source of inspiration, not limitation!)

  • poem
  •  cover letter
  •  purpose statement for graduate school
  • proposal for funding a new program
  • letter to your congressional representative for advocacy
  • short story
  • letter to your high school senior before they leave for college

How do I participate?

  • Sign up for this event (it's free for members!)  Deadline to sign up: Wed Jan 13th
  • ·Start writing! A little something attempted is better than nothing!
o  Use pandemic times and winter breaks to fuel a writing outlet

o   All genres welcome, drafts are always in progress

  • Upload your draft to the location provided to registrants Deadline to submit a draft: Sun Jan 25
  •  Join our Lasso group share in zoom: Thursday, January 28: 8:00-9:00pm (EST)
o  Members will be given 5 minutes to share their writing in small groups

o   Entire Lasso team will reconvene to share out our experience

o  Sharing of writing is optional- we welcome listeners to our circle, as well.
