Digital media has become such a big part of our everyday lives and much more prevalent in the past few years. Whether that’s through the news, social media, music, movies, and more, we use these platforms to connect and relate across various cultures and ideals. Let’s use what we already know and connect to students more.

Let’s talk about how we can use our own experiences with social media and pop culture to connect with students, highlight specific locations and hone in on interests of our own. Come prepared to share your ideas. Hope to see you there!

Host: Dominique Washington

Dominique Washington has been involved in the International Education field for about 5 years. As an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, she spent a semester studying at the University of Sydney as an exchange student and then proceeded to work for her home university’s Study Abroad Office until her graduation. She earned her Masters Degree in International Education from New York University and soon after landed a role at the University of Texas at Arlington as a Study Abroad Advisor. Still being fairly new to the IE field, Dominique tries her best to get involved by networking and participating in events such as attending and presenting at this year’s NAFSA Region III conference. Dominique currently serves as one of the Regional Directors on the Campus Partnerships team at ISA and TEAN by WorldStrides.
