Being in the IE field, we all have a passion for education abroad, language immersion, cultural awareness and more but how do you as an individual fit into this field? Creating your own brand means developing and understanding what your own identity, passions and goals are to you within your career. What are your passions? What makes you, YOU? Come join us to learn more about what it means to create your own brand as an early career professional or someone new to the field. 


Guest speaker, Aley Bedair, presented on this topic at the 2022 NAFSA Region III Conference and is excited to share more about what it means to create your own brand!

Aley Bedair has been a part of the WorldStrides family for over 7 years and deeply believes in the importance of international education. Aley's own life was transformed by study abroad and service-learning experiences in Peru. She has since been privileged to visit many countries across 4 continents. Aley has presented at dozens of national, state and local conferences and has served on many regional and national committees, Her professional areas of expertise include strategic development,  cross-campus engagement, and religious identity as it is related to diversity, equity and inclusion. A Texas native, Aley holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies focusing in Spanish and Religious Studies from Texas A&M University, and is currently pursuing her Master's in Business Administration from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Aley is very passionate about travel and fostering genuine relationships both around the world and around the corner. She enjoys baking, Broadway musicals, and visiting any alpaca farm she can find.

Host: Dominique Washington

Dominique Washington has been involved in the International Education field for about 5 years. As an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, she spent a semester studying at the University of Sydney as an exchange student and then proceeded to work for her home university’s Study Abroad Office until her graduation. She earned her Masters Degree in International Education from New York University and soon after landed a role at the University of Texas at Arlington as a Study Abroad Advisor. Still being fairly new to the IE field, Dominique tries her best to get involved by networking and participating in events such as attending and presenting at this year’s NAFSA Region III conference. Dominique currently serves as one of the Regional Directors on the Campus Partnerships team at ISA and TEAN by WorldStrides.
