Dr. Kira Espiritu is the Assistant Provost for International Affairs at the University of San Diego. She has nearly 20 years’ experience in international education and has a wealth of leadership experience. Kira oversees the development of undergraduate and graduate study abroad programs at the University of San Diego, collaborates across campus to ensure comprehensive policies and protocols for international programming, serves as the primary on-call contact for all international health and safety issues and trains faculty and staff on emergency risk management. In addition, Kira serves on a variety of campus committees and is an adjunct professor in the Knauss School of Business as well as the School of Leadership and Education Sciences where she teaches courses on Higher Education Policy and Higher Education Administration. Kira has a BA in Psychology from Creighton University, which is where her study abroad adventure began, an MA in Counseling with an emphasis in College Student Services and she has a PhD in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from the University of San Diego. Kira is an active member of NAFSA, the Forum on Education Abroad and AIEA.
Todd Lee Goen is Director of Global Education and Senior International Officer at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) where his responsibilities include oversight of education abroad, international student and scholars support services, international grant/program management, and strategic planning and initiatives for campus internationalization. He previously held full-time faculty positions at Christopher Newport University, Purdue University Fort Wayne, and Clemson University. In addition to a host of international leadership activities on campus with professional and community organizations, Goen served as Chair of NAFSA Academy 20, is a member of NAFSA's Trainer Corps, and is an IDI Qualified Administrator. He's served on multiple Forum on Education Abroad Working Groups and currently is on the AIEA Strategic Planning Taskforce as well as the Professional Development & Engagement Committee. He is the 2020 recipient of the Southern States Communication Association's John I Sisco Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2022 recipient of NAFSA's Lily von Klemperer Award.
Shannon Ingleby started her career in International Education while teaching and living in China. After living overseas for three years, she understands the difficulties of moving to a new country and can also celebrate the many ways that living and studying abroad positively impacts an individual. Other prior professional positions include admissions at Adler University and international student advising at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. In her current role at Kirkwood, she serves as the PDSO, specializing in F1 student visa advising and strategizing international admissions and recruitment. One of the most enjoyable parts of her job is advising the International Student Leadership Team. Shannon has held several positions within NAFSA including current Academy Chair-Designate, Academy Coach, Region IV Conference Planner, Registrar, Development Coordinator and Community College Rep. She most recently participated in a Fulbright IEA in Japan which helped develop her knowledge of the field. Shannon holds an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and a B.A. in Psychology from Central College.
Jessica Fetridge is the Associate Director in the Global Learning Office at Northwestern University where she overseas student services and pre-departure orientation manages a summer program in Barcelona, and advises on a portfolio of programs in Oceania, Spain, and the MENA region. Before coming to Northwestern she served as the Training Director of the Urban Chicago Chapter of Amigos de las Americas, training students to lead community development projects in Latin America and worked as an adviser at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Study Abroad Office. She has an MEd in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago and a BS in International Business and Spanish from the University of Dayton. She has studied abroad twice, first as an undergraduate studying Spanish and business for a semester at University of Deusto in San Sebastian, Spain and later as a graduate student studying International Education at Loyola's campus in Rome. Jessica is a member of the NAFSA, the Forum on Education Abroad and the Global Leadership League. She sits on the Executive Committee of IFSA's National Advisory Board, works on the IFSA Inclusive Excellence Advisory Group, and is a Mentor in the International Educators of Illinois (IEI) Mentorship Program. In her spare time she likes cooking, traveling, and exploring Chicago for activities to help her two young children burn energy and satisfy their curiosity.
