Join us for an intimate conversation with Cammie Jones, an award-winning social justice and civic engagement leader. Cammie’s work has an impact at the individual and the institutional level; she is a teacher, mentor, leader, and education executive. This event offers a platform to reflect, share, be inspired, and form a community around values of authentic leadership. All are welcome, whether you are an aspiring leader or seasoned mentor, we look forward to meeting you.


Cammie Jones, who is originally from Dallas, TX, has spent over 17 years in higher education and nonprofit leadership, continually paving the way for social justice and civic engagement. She is a first-generation college student with a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University A&M.

Cammie is the Director for the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement. As Director, she is responsible for the oversight and administration of the Elective Classification for Community Engagement, including stewarding the community engagement advisory committee, grant development and reporting, training design and facilitation, managing national relationships, and ongoing network and coalition building. Cammie is the recipient of Chamber Foundation Inc. 's 2021 ATHENA Award, as well as the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce's 2012 Forty Under 40 Class. Other honors include the N4A 2014 Professional Promise Award for Region 1, the AWCC 2017 Forty Under 40 Class, and the Arc of Dutchess 2017 Peggy Martinko Community Trailblazer Award.



Jennifer Murray (she/her) is the Dean of International Studies and Director of the Institute for International Liberal Education at Bard College. In addition to overseeing international programs, Jennifer heads the Welcome Corps on Campus and related student-refugee programming. She is a Forum on Education Abroad certified professional and recipient of a Fulbright International Education Administrator’s award to Korea. Jennifer began her career in international education as an English teacher at the University of Pecs, Hungary. Since that time she has worked with adult and military veteran students at SUNY Ulster, international student advising at the School of Visual Arts, and with student disability services at Hunter College.
