As many of us are new to the field or are just beginning our careers, a big question on the mind is “what’s next?”. We see people changing jobs, getting promoted, earning post-graduate degrees and more, so what do you hope to do next as a professional? Is there room for growth at your current job?

Do you hope to advance in this field? What are your current goals in terms of your career? Career progression means different things to each of us, but as we look into the future, let’s talk about what this could mean and how we can come together to support each other. Get ready to discuss, ask questions and advise each other as we continue to grow as young professionals.

The Early Career Professionals affinity group is a place for young professionals or those new to the field to discuss relevant topics in our field as many of us start our careers in International Education. Come join us to connect with like-minded individuals as we share new ideas, opinions and learn from one another.

Host: Dominique Washington

Dominique Washington has been involved in the International Education field for about 5 years. As an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, she spent a semester studying at the University of Sydney as an exchange student and then proceeded to work for her home university’s Study Abroad Office until her graduation. She earned her Masters Degree in International Education from New York University and soon after landed a role at the University of Texas at Arlington as a Study Abroad Advisor. Still being fairly new to the IE field, Dominique tries her best to get involved by networking and participating in events such as attending and presenting at this year’s NAFSA Region III conference. Dominique currently serves as one of the Regional Directors on the Campus Partnerships team at ISA and TEAN by WorldStrides.
